Disappointment is Temporary

Disappointment is temporary.

I feed my mind with thoughts that keep it from becoming fragile. Instead of crowding it with self-defeating contemplations, I train it to believe in silver linings.

Even when I am disappointed, I know that the sun will shine on me again soon.

That knowledge and belief give me the motivation to move past unfortunate situations. At times, I feel upset by an outcome, but I refuse to allow that feeling to linger.

I have the power to rise above adversity. I maintain confidence in my ability to start again and be successful. I am rarely slowed down by disappointing circumstances.

When I lose out on a job opportunity to another candidate, I see that as a sign to accept that my true blessing is still on its way.

I exercise patience.

I continue to take inspired action toward my goals until my reward arrives.

I curb disappointment by focusing on the great things in my life.

When I look at my many blessings, I immediately lose the urge to feel bad for myself.

There is so much joy in my life because I have the support and love of family and friends. They reassure me that, even in the most difficult times, there is a promise of healing and fulfillment for me down the road.

Whenever I feel disappointed, I take a few moments to find the blessings from the experience.

There is always something to be grateful for.

Today, faith and motivation trump disappointment in my life. I know that any negative state of mind is temporary as long as I believe wholeheartedly in myself.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What are some things that I tend to feel disappointed about?

2. How do I train my mind to see the good in each situation?

3. What opportunities exist for me to elevate my status in life?
